What is the WUE program?

AKA the "Western Undergraduate Exchange" program provides tuition discounts.

The WUE program is active in participating states/institutions and provides in-state tuition prices, even though the applicant may be technically out-of-state. Out-of-state tuition tends to be higher, compared to in-state tuition. The logic here lies in the fact that residents of a certain state pay taxes and are thus given in-state tuition prices which are usually highly discounted.

The WUE program allows students who are applying to certain out-of-state schools to pay a comparable rate to an in-state school. Ideally, this should make out-of-state schools more cost-effective, especially if you apply for financial aid and grants.
